LETTER FROM BISHOP DIMARZIO
Dear Friends in Christ,
Each year, the Annual Catholic Appeal provides us with an opportunity to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to build the Kingdom of God here in Brooklyn and Queens. Guided by the Holy Spirit, our dedicated bishops, priests, deacons, religious men and woman and lay faithful unite in the mission of serving our Lord through acts of charity and love, and works of care and compassion with your generous financial help.
Thousands join together to respond to those among us in need and to support the important work of our diocese through a pledge to the Annual Catholic Appeal. For all, participating with a gift to the Appeal is a way to live the faith contained in their hearts, and for many it is also a way of giving back for the blessings they have received from God.
The 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal, Live in Faith—Give in Love, reminds us that the work of the Church is shared by all believers in response to the gifts of faith and love. By supporting the works of our Diocese and the mission of the Church through a commitment to the 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal, you will inspire others in your parish and our diocese to join us as we answer God’s call to love and to serve our neighbors. Those who are without shelter, malnourished, those without access to Catholic education, men discerning the priesthood and those who are ill, and dying —all depend upon our generosity.
Through your prayerful consideration and reflection, I invite you to take part in the work of our Church by making a sacrificial gift to the 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal.
Asking the Lord to extend His choicest blessings upon you, and thanking you for your consideration, I am
Sincerely in Christ,
MOST REVEREND NICHOLAS DIMARZIO, PH.D., D.D.
BISHOP OF BROOKLYN
